S.T.A.B.L.E. Description Information S.T.A.B.L.E. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.

This 2-hour program will teach you the proper selection, use, installation and progression of car and booster seats for infants, toddlers and children not yet ready to use adult seat belts, or those under 4’ 9” tall. The program is based on best practice guidelines. Safe Kids Greater Augusta also provides car or booster seats to families who are on government assistance and the mother must be at least 6 months pregnant or already have a child. Upon completion of the course participants will receive a voucher with a scheduled appointment to receive their car seat. Safe Sitter courses are instructor led and interactive, with hands on demonstrations and skills practice using soft bodied dolls and medical mannequins.
