Safe Kids: Safe Sleep Class ($10 cash at door) Description Information Safe Kids: Safe Sleep Class ($10 cash at door) ($10 cash payment at the door) Safe Sleep Class Cribs for Kids® is a safe-sleep education program to help reduce the risk of injury and death of infants due to unsafe sleep environments. Instructors will teach caregivers how to provide a safe sleep environment and what dangers to eliminate. Please arrange for child care, as it is a 1 ½ hour class and little ones like to be active and will distract other participants. Families who are on government assistance and are at least 6 months pregnant will receive a Pack-n-Play. (Age restriction is limited to the child being no older than 6 months or less than 20 lbs.)

S.T.A.B.L.E. Description Information S.T.A.B.L.E. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.

Every year thousands of children die or suffer injuries due to the improper use of car seats and restraints. This 2-hour program will teach you the proper selection, use, installation and progression of car and booster seats for infants, toddlers and children not yet ready to use adult seat belts, or those under 4’ 9” tall. The program is based on best practice guidelines. Safe Kids Greater Augusta also provides car or booster seats to families who are on government assistance and the mother must be at least 6 months pregnant or already have a child. Upon completion of the course participants will receive a voucher with a scheduled appointment to receive their car seat. Please arrange for childcare, as it is a 2 hour class and little ones like to be active and will distract other participants.

The course is offered at AU Health through the American College of Surgeons and consists of trauma theory and clinical skills practice. Every year thousands of children die or suffer injuries due to the improper use of car seats and restraints. This 2-hour program will teach you the proper selection, use, installation and progression of car and booster seats for infants, toddlers and children not yet ready to use adult seat belts, or those under 4’ 9” tall. The program is based on best practice guidelines. Safe Kids Greater Augusta also provides car or booster seats to families who are on government assistance and the mother must be at least 6 months pregnant or already have a child. Upon completion of the course participants will receive a voucher with a scheduled appointment to receive their car seat. This 2-hour program will teach you the proper selection, use, installation and progression of car and booster seats for infants, toddlers and children not yet ready to use adult seat belts, or those under 4’ 9” tall. The program is based on best practice guidelines. Safe Kids Greater Augusta also provides car or booster seats to families who are on government assistance and the mother must be at least 6 months pregnant or already have a child. Upon completion of the course participants will receive a voucher with a scheduled appointment to receive their car seat. Please arrange for childcare, as it is a 2 hour class and little ones like to be active and will distract other participants.

S.T.A.B.L.E. Description Information S.T.A.B.L.E. S.T.A.B.L.E. is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.
