Basic Pistol Safety (Civilian & Guard) Description Information Basic Pistol Safety (Civilian & Guard) The Basic Pistol Safety Course meets the training requirement under HRS §134-2, covering safe handling, storage, Hawaii firearms laws, practical skills, and a live-fire qualification. This class fulfills the requirement to acquire a handgun (pistol). For licensed Guards it also supports professional safety expectations consistent with HRS Chapter 463 under OSHA/HIOSH standards.

License to Carry (Qualification; Civilian & Guard) Description Information License to Carry (Qualification; Civilian & Guard) This qualification follows the requirements set by the Rules of the Chief of Police (Title 21, Chapter 15) and HRS §134-9 for a License to Carry a Firearm. THIS IS NOT A BASIC SKILLS CLASS. Students are expected to already have the training necessary to safely meet qualification standards. Proof of prior firearms training is required, or you must pass a pre-skills safety test; those who cannot meet safety and skill requirements may be removed from training.

S4S 8 Hour Guard Course (On-Line) Description Information S4S 8 Hour Guard Course (On-Line) This course meets HRS §463-10.5(c) and (d) requirements for guard registration, training, testing, and continuing education for renewal. The exam consists of 100 true/false and multiple-choice questions to assess knowledge and competency. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
