AHA PALS ONLINE Code - PART 1
This is a blended learning course for PALS Provider certification. THIS OPTION IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FIRST TIME PALS STUDENTS. It consists of an online didactic learning and testing portion - PART 1; and a classroom skills session – PART 2. Referred to as “Heartcode PALS”, the online portion of the course is accessed by entering a non-refundable "key code" on the AHA student website. After completing the online course, students enroll in PART 2 and attend a classroom skills check session, testing practical skills for: Child single rescuer CPR and AED use; Airway management; Megacode testing. Upon successful completion of these classroom skills, students will receive a PALS Provider certification card, valid for two years. Once delivered the on-line code is not refundable.

Description
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program
This program is intended for healthcare providers who participate in neo-natal resuscitation in the delivery room, newborn nursery or emergency settings. It covers the NRP algorithm and use of pulse oximetry in a hands-on, interactive, simulation-based learning environment. Topics covered include: Principles and initial steps of resuscitation; use of resuscitation devices for positive-pressure ventilation; chest compressions; ET intubation and laryngeal mask airway insertion; medications; special considerations; resuscitation of babies born preterm; and ethics and care at the end of life. Upon successful completion of both online and skills parts of the course, students receive a certification card valid for two years.

Description
AHA Adult/Child/Infant CPR AED
Approximately a 3-4 hour comprehensive course designed to teach members of the general public correct CPR techniques for use on adults, children and infants ages 0 – 12 months. The course also covers use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) as an important part of the CPR sequence for adults, children and infants. Students learn how to relieve choking in a responsive or unresponsive adult, child and infant, and how to use a barrier device to prevent contamination during rescue breathing. This course satisfies the CPR requirement for child care providers in the State of Maryland. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certification card valid for two years.

Approximately a 7 hour combination course designed to teach members of the general public how to assess and treat injuries, medical and environmental emergencies until professional help arrives. Skills focus on keeping the rescuer safe, while providing life-saving assistance to patients of all ages in a variety of scenarios. Students learn proper techniques to use when treating internal or external bleeding; dealing with anaphylactic shock; managing bone and joint injuries; burn care; recognizing symptoms of heart attack, stroke, diabetic emergencies and more. Students also learn proper CPR techniques, how and when to use an AED (automated external defibrillator) and how to relieve choking for adults, children and infants. Use of a barrier device to prevent contamination during rescue breathing is also addressed. This combination course satisfies OSHA requirements and the First Aid and CPR requirements for child care providers in the State of Maryland. Upon successful course completion, students receive an American Heart Association certification card valid for two years.

FHH Private Class PALS Renewal
Approximately a 6 – 8 hour course designed for students who are currently PALS certified.
