CPR/AED/BLS Instructor Description Information CPR/AED/BLS Instructor The CPR Instructor program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of teaching Basic Life Support to a variety of audiences. The program offers a two-year instructorship through the American Heart Association. Successful completion of this course allows the participant to teach CPR and offer AHA course completion cards to lay rescuers and health professionals. This program consists of one session at-home program where students complete a DVD or CD-ROM based CORE Instructor program, followed by a one-day classroom session detailing administrative policies, the practice-while-watching system, and other logistics of training. Please Note: Registrations must be prepaid for this program, and because a significant amount value of materials needs to be pre-mailed to students, a $90 cancellation fee is charged for students who receive materials but do not attend the program.

Since the inception of the NRP in 1987, over 3 million individuals in the United States and a countless number of individuals abroad have been trained in NRP. The 6th Edition, released in 2011, is based on simulation methodology, enhancing development of critical leadership, communication and team work skills.

Emergency Medical Technician Description Information Emergency Medical Technician EMT Programs typically run for 2-3 months, and contain instruction necessary to prepare a student to function as an Emergency Medical Technician. After successful completion of this 190-hour program, the student is eligible to sit for the NJ EMT examination with the Department of Health. This program is professional technical training. NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Description Information NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an educational program jointly sponsored by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) along with the American Heart Association (AHA). The course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn to hospital staff who care for newborns at the time of delivery, including physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. Since the inception of the NRP in 1987, over 3 million individuals in the United States and a countless number of individuals abroad have been trained in NRP. The 6th Edition, released in 2011, is based on simulation methodology, enhancing development of critical leadership, communication and team work skills.

ACLS Renewal Description Information ACLS Renewal The ACLS provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of pre-arrest emergencies (bradychardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke.

TNCC-Trauma Nurse Core Course Description Information TNCC-Trauma Nurse Core Course Trauma nursing as a discipline refers to the process and content of all the different roles nurses have in the care of the trauma patient. Knowledge is the core of any discipline. The purpose of TNCC is to present core-level knowledge, refine skills, and build a firm foundation in trauma nursing. ENA developed and implemented the TNCC for national and international dissemination as a means of identifying a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge. The TNCC (Provider) is a 16-hour course designed to provide the learner with cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills. The TNCC may be officially attended by registered nurses (RN's). Other health care providers may attend the course as observers.
