AHA PALS Description Information AHA PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. Emergency Medical Technician (Hybrid) Description Information Emergency Medical Technician (Hybrid) EMT Programs typically run for 2-3 months, and contain instruction necessary to prepare a student to function as an Emergency Medical Technician. After successful completion of this 190-hour program, the student is eligible to sit for the NJ EMT examination with the Department of Health. This program is professional technical training. Students will be expected to complete reading and homework assignments, attend classes, and complete all program objectives to sit for the state EMT certification exam. AHA ACLS Description Information AHA ACLS The ACLS provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of pre-arrest emergencies (bradychardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke.
