Trench Rescue Awareness Description Information Trench Rescue Awareness Prerequisites: None Description: As our rural communities continue to grow, new construction and utility repair work force contractors in every community to open trenches every single day. These trenches and excavations pose unique and serious dangers in the event of an accident or emergency. The HCESTC presents this program which is intended for any emergency response personnel who might be called to the scene of an emergency involving a trench or excavation. Material to be covered within this program includes: Proper scene size-up and hazard recognition; Resources required for trench rescue incidents; Scene management and ICS / IMS; Typical trench emergencies and trench collapse patterns; Overview of trench rescue procedures; Hazards unique to trench and excavations, along with mitigation techniques; Procedures for rapid, non-entry rescue of minimally injured victims. This program is intended for all emergency response personnel, and forms the basis for Operations and Technician level trench rescue training. This course is intended to provide "Awareness" training as outlined in NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents). PPE: None Required Class Minimum: 10 Class Maximum: None

Rope Rescue Awareness Description Information Rope Rescue Awareness Prerequisites: None Description: This program is intended for any emergency response personnel who may respond to an incident where rope rescue systems might be employed. This entry-level program, based upon the requirements of NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents), will provide the student with a basic understanding of how rope-based rescue systems can provide access to elevated and below grade locations. The student will gain a basic understanding of proper incident size-up, resource identification, safety issues, applications of rope-based systems, and an introduction to rope rescue equipment and terminology. This course also forms the required foundation for Operations and Technician-level training in rope rescue. PPE: None Required Class Minimum: 12 Class Maximum: None

Vehicle Rescue Awareness - Description Information Vehicle Rescue Awareness - Prerequisites: None Description: This program is intended for any emergency response personnel who may respond to motor vehicle crashes. The program identifies the many hazards often present at crash sites and explains how to recognize these hazards to protect both the rescuer and the patient. This entry-level program, based upon the requirements of NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents), will provide the student with a basic understanding of vehicle rescue theory and principals. The student will also receive an overview of supplemental restraint systems (SRS) in today's vehicles. This course also forms the required foundation for Operations and Technician-level training in vehicle rescue. PPE: None Required Class Minimum: 12 Class Maximum: None

DDC-6 / Defense Driving-Hunterdon County Employees Description Information DDC-6 / Defense Driving-Hunterdon County Employees This course is created by the NJ State Safety Council will review the hazards encountered on the road by drivers every day, including those created by road conditions, weather, traffic, and the actions of other drivers. Defensive driving training can greatly reduce the likelihood of your drivers being involved in a collision, by providing them with the knowledge needed to recognize hazardous conditions and take actions to avoid collisions. Successful completion of this course may entitle the driver to a discount on the base rate for their liability and collision coverage's on their personal auto insurance.
