EMT - Distance Learning Prgm - Warren Description Information EMT - Distance Learning Prgm - Warren The EmergyCare Distance Learning EMT Program combines in-person lab instruction with state-of-the-art video conferencing technology that allows face to face learning. Students are able to attend a live synchronous PA Dept. of Health approved distance learning EMT training course for initial certification at a local meeting place in their community.

- How do I attend class? Students attend class by physically reporting to their designated local classroom sites located in or close to their own community.

-How do I know which classroom site I will attend class at? A student’s classroom site is determined based on the student’s preference, their overall distance from the closest classroom sites, and classroom capacity.

-Do I need to attend classes at specific times? Yes, because the program is a live synchronous environment, the class meets at regularly scheduled times, simultaneously, at all classroom sites. Part of a student’s program success requires the student to report to their designated local classroom site to participate in live lectures, video lessons, and interactive discussions.

-How will course instruction be delivered? The delivery of course instruction varies based on the type of instruction being delivered. For example, lectures are delivered live via two-way HD video conference equipment, while hands-on skills and labs are taught in person by skilled Lab Instructors at each of the local classroom sites.

- What is the benefit of attending a distance learning EMT course over a traditional classroom course? Convenience is the main reason students choose a distance learning EMT program over a traditional classroom course. Instead of driving an extended distance to attend class, students can attend the class at a local classroom site and fully participate in the course by using onsite two-way video conference equipment.

EmergyCare's EMT-B Programs are taught in partnership with Butler County Community College and follow current National EMS Education Standards.
