Child & Babysitting Safety Course
The ASHI Child and Babysitting Safety training program is designed for youths ages 11-15 who are new to the business of babysitting. This unique and fun course focuses on supervising, caring for, and keeping children and infants safe in a babysitting setting, by teaching important skills on proper supervision, basic caregiving, and responding properly to ill or injured children and infants.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The EmergyCare In-Person EMT Prgm. is a traditional classroom based EMT training program designed for individuals who prefer to learn in a traditional classroom setting instead of online through a distance learning program.
During the fast-paced course, students will learn about anatomy; physiology; proper lifting and moving; patient assessment; and treatment for cardiac arrest, medical emergencies, and traumatic injuries by participating in a mix of lectures, hands on labs, and clinical rotations designed to prepare them for the National Registry of EMT Certification Exams.
Students also receive certifications from the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for Hazardous Materials Awareness and National Incident Management System (NIMS)
COURSE SCHEDULE
Course meets Tuesday/Thursday evenings & one (1) Saturday a month.
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturdays: 8:00am - 5:00pm with an hour for lunch.
Saturday Sessions Are: 01/27/24, 02/10/24, 03/09/24, 03/23/24, 04/06/24,
EmergyCare’s EMT-B programs are taught in partnership with Butler County Community College and follow the 2011 National EMS Education Standards.
ADMISSION REQUIRMENTS
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (Under 18 may be considered on case-by-case basis), be fluent in the English language, be able to pass Act 34, 115, & 151 background checks, & have reliable internet access.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Submit an online Admission App. & pay the $50.00 Non-Refundable fee.
2. Application is reviewed within 5 business days & applicant is notified via email of their acceptance or rejection into the program.
3. Accepted individuals complete & return acceptance paperwork & arrange for payment of the $700.00 Course Package Fee.
This is a traditional in-person learning program with students attending all class sessions in-person at EmergyCare in Erie, PA.

Students attend a live synchronous PA Dept. of Health approved distance learning course for initial certification through a combination of live online two-way lectures via the internet, & hands on skills sessions that are attended in-person at a local learning site at EmergyCare Erie.
During the fast-paced course, students will learn about anatomy; physiology; proper lifting and moving; patient assessment; and treatment for cardiac arrest, medical emergencies, and traumatic injuries by participating in a mix of lectures, hands on labs, and clinical rotations designed to prepare them for the National Registry of EMT Certification Exams.

- Distance Students must be able to meet the following requirements to attend class online:

- Have access to a functioning computer, tablet, or similar devise that has a working camera, microphone, and speaker that allows full participation in class. *Student & Instructor must be able to see, hear and speak with each other at all times during online classes..
