The ACLS provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. ACLS Refresher 1 Day * New prework video required*
The ACLS provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of pre-arrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke. Geared towards ALS providers; RN, MD, DO, PA, NP, MICP, MICN

Course books can be signed out at either of the Hospital Medical Libraries or from your department library. It is STRONGLY recommended that you read the textbook ahead of time.

Heartsaver CPR/AED
Description
Heartsaver CPR/AED
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a CPR course for "non-licensed" staff who need a course completion card. It is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
