RWJBarnabas Health Training Center
Profile
The full range of CPR and first aid instruction, from basic to the most advanced courses in adult and pediatric life support, is now provided by the RWJBarnabas Health CPR Training Center.
As New Jersey’s largest provider of CPR instruction, the CPR Training Center offers programs in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation, as well as Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training, First Aid, Heart Saver and BLS Instructor Development courses.
We offered year-round courses at all 11 acute care facilities of RWJBarnabas Health. All programs are certified by the American Heart Association, except for the neonatal resuscitation course, which is certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
With over 600 trained instructors across the state, the CPR Training Center provides easy access to training for people who live and work throughout New Jersey. When the program was started at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 1985, 125 people were trained in the first year. Since then the program has grown tremendously, training more than 21,000 individuals in 2000-2001, making it the #1 training center in New Jersey, according to the American Heart Association.
