PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) - NAEMT
Provider Course: 9th Edition - 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive an ecertificate and wallet size ecard recognizing them as PHTLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit.
A pre-test will be sent at registration and must be completed prior to coming in for the 2 day provider course.
The required materials for the Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course include:
1. The Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), 9th Edition textbook
2. The pretest be completed and brought to class

Description
PHTLS - 9th Ed. HYBRID Skills - NAEMT
This is the HYBRID version of the 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. Completion of the online hybrid portion of the program is mandatory prior to coming for one day of skills. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as PHTLS providers for 4 years, and CAPCE credit.

The Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) course focuses on critical pediatric physiology, illnesses, injuries and interventions to help EMS practitioners provide the best treatment for sick and injured children in the field.
Topics Include:
The pathophysiology of the most common critical pediatric emergency issues, and critical thinking skills to help practitioners make the best decisions for their patients.
Application of the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT), a tool to help EMS practitioners rapidly and accurately assess pediatric patients.
The importance of family-centered care.
Understanding and communicating with children.
Airway management, breathing and oxygenation.
Cardiac emergencies.
Recognizing child abuse and neglect.
Hypoperfusion and shock.
Newborn resuscitation.
