AHA BLS Instructor Course Description Information AHA BLS Instructor Course There are 4 steps to completing the AHA BLS Instructor course: Have your BLS skills pre-monitored and successfully complete the AHA BLS Provider written exam. This step will be completed at the beginning of the instructor course, and should take approximately 30 minutes. Complete the AHA BLS Essentials online course. This course is approximately 2.5 hours long, and must be completed prior to the instructor course. You will receive your online registration information for this course, when you register and pay for the course. If you are from a department or company, we will invoice that organization if desired. Successfully complete the instructor-led BLS Instructor course. This will be one 8-hour day. Successfully be monitored teaching in a BLS Provider course by a Public Safety Training of South Jersey Faculty. You can schedule this last step, once the first three steps have been completed. You have six months from the instructor course date to successfully complete this post monitoring.

NAEMT Tactical Emergency Care Refresher Description Information NAEMT Tactical Emergency Care Refresher The 2nd edition of NAEMT's Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) Refresher course teaches EMS practitioners and other prehospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment. The course presents the three phases of tactical care and integrates parallel EMS nomenclature: -Hot Zone/Direct Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions. -Warm Zone/Indirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed but may resurface at any point. -Cold Zone/Evacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated from the incident site. The 8-hour classroom course includes all new patient simulations and covers the following topics: -Hemorrhage control including immediate action drills for tourniquet application throughout the course. -Complete coverage of the MARCH assessment. -Surgical airway control and needle decompression. -Strategies for treating wounded responders in threatening environments. -Caring for pediatric patients. -Techniques for dragging and carrying victims to safety; and -A final, mass-casualty/active shooter event simulation. NAEMT's TECC course is endorsed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, is consistent with the current guidelines established by the Committee on TECC (Co-TECC) and meets all of the updated National Tactical Emergency Medical Support Competency Domains. This course is accredited by CAPCE for 8 hours of continuing education credit and recognized by NREMT.

Low-Light Care Under Fire: Stay in the Fight Description Information Low-Light Care Under Fire: Stay in the Fight Low Light Care Under Fire & Staying in the Fight is an intense tactical medical training course designed for law enforcement, tactical medics, paramedics, and military personnel who may need to deliver lifesaving care in low-light, high-threat environments. Participants will learn to rapidly assess and treat life-threatening injuries while operating under direct threat conditions with limited visibility. Training focuses on hemorrhage control, self-aid, buddy-aid, casualty movement, and maintaining situational awareness while under stress. Emphasis is placed on developing the warrior mindset of “staying in the fight,” teaching students how to continue the mission and care for themselves and others even after sustaining injury. Hands-on skills and scenario-based training prepare students to perform when it matters most.

NJ EMT Refresher A - Airway Description Information NJ EMT Refresher A - Airway Refresher A NJ EMT’s require 24 elective CEU credits, along with a 24-hour EMT Refresher to recertify their EMT credentials. This program is designed to satisfy the EMT Refresher component of the renewal for NJ Emergency Medical Technicians. The refresher program has been broken down into three sections: Airway, Trauma and Medical. Refresher A provides a review of Airway management and a brief overview of physiology of the airway. Each section is an 8 hour program that does not need to be completed as a set. Students are required to attend all three sections- A,B and C in order to utilize these CEUs for their recertification.
