Description
NJ Emergency Medical Dispatcher
This course is the state mandated 32 Hour Emergency Medical Dispatch Program. This course is designed to provide dispatchers (Police/Fire/EMS) with the necessary information and skills to function as an EMD. This course will provide students with the secondary level of certification that is required for any officer or dispatcher who will answer 9-1-1 Medical Calls. Topics include: responsibilities of an EMD, legal/liability issues, providing proper medical instructions by phone, and use of the emergency medical dispatch guide cards. This course includes role-playing simulated 9-1-1 medical calls.

The Emergency Telecommunicator course provides an introduction to emergency telecommunication centers’ technology, processes, and ethics. The course is designed to prepare you to learn effective communication in an emergency situation and help you earn a certification through the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) as Emergency Telecommunicators. Training includes instruction in, but not limited to, the following: emergency telecommunication technology, interpersonal communication, caller management, classification of police, fire, and medical calls, legal aspects of public safety communication and, stress factors and management in the emergency telecommunication field.

Description
NAEMT PHTLS Hybrid Skills Session Only
16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion, a wallet card recognizing them as PHTLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit. This course is being offered as a hybrid course where students take 8 hours of the course online followed by 8 hours in the classroom.
